How to convert PDF to JPG
- Choose a PDF file. The number of pages is shown as soon as it has been read.
- Pick the image format (JPG or PNG) and the resolution.
- Leave Pages empty to convert all pages, or type the pages you need, for example
1or2-5, 9. - Press Convert and preview. Thumbnails of the pages appear; click any of them to save just that page.
- Press Download to save a single image, or a ZIP file with all images.
Which resolution should I choose?
- 72 DPI — small images for previews, chat messages and thumbnails. An A4 page becomes about 595 × 842 pixels.
- 150 DPI — the best choice for most uses: presentations, websites, social media and reading on screen. An A4 page becomes about 1240 × 1754 pixels.
- 300 DPI — print quality and fine details such as small text or technical drawings. An A4 page becomes about 2480 × 3508 pixels, and files are noticeably larger.
JPG or PNG?
JPG produces much smaller files and is perfect for pages that contain photos. PNG is lossless: letters and lines stay perfectly crisp, which makes it better for text-heavy pages, charts, plans and screenshots, but the files are larger. Both formats are created with a white background.
Why use a browser-based converter?
To turn a PDF into images, other services upload your file and render it on their servers. Here the PDF is rendered on your own device with Mozilla’s open-source PDF.js engine — the same technology Firefox uses to display PDFs. Nothing is uploaded, so you can safely convert bank statements, tickets, contracts and anything else you would not want to share.
Frequently asked questions
How many pages can I convert at once?
Up to 100 pages per run. For longer documents convert them in parts, for example 1-100 and then 101-200.
Why are some images smaller than expected?
Browsers limit the size of a single image. Extremely large pages, such as posters at 300 DPI, are rendered at a slightly lower resolution so they can be created reliably. The tool tells you when this happens.
Can I turn the images back into a PDF?
Yes, with JPG to PDF. If you only want to remove or reorder pages, Split PDF keeps the text selectable and is a better choice.
